Supta Vajrasana is an advanced version of Vajrasana where the upper body reclines backwards.
Sit in Vajrasana. Place both hands behind you on the floor. Your fingers should point towards your side. Slowly bend backwards and rest the right elbow first and then the left elbow on the ground. Now rest your head and shoulders on the floor maintaining an arched back. Then slide the right hand followed by the left hand so that they touch the lower legs. Now let your hands rest on the floor with palms facing up. Return to normal position by reversing the process.
Supta Vajrasana is a good exercise for women who suffer from stomach pain during menstruation. Further, this posture helps maintain proper blood circulation to the internal organs such as Kidney, Liver, and Pancreas.
